Hockey Day Minnesota 2017 gives us a game that could be a sneak preview of a section 7AA match-up when the Andover Huskies (9-9-1) travel to Grand Rapids to take on the Grand Rapids/Greenway Lightning (14-5-2).

The Lightning is led by sophomore Sadie Peart and seniors Maddy Illikainen and Megan DuLong. Peart leads the team in goals and assists for a total of 35 points. 

The Huskies are led by junior Claire Butorac, senior Nicole Sedey and sophomore Paige Anderson. Butorac leads the team in goals and assists for a total of 29 points.

When looking at the two team's common opponents such as Blaine, Irondale, Elk River, Forest Lake and Rogers, the Lightning are 1-3-1, while the Huskies were 2-4. 

The Huskies will first travel to Cloquet on Friday to take on the Lumberjacks in another section 7AA match-up. The Lightning beat the Lumberjacks twice this season with a 2-0 victory in November and a 4-3 OT victory in mid-December.
