(11/06/19) As they gear up for their upcoming season, the Andover High School (AndHS) girls hockey team is partnering with youth teams to give back to the community. On Nov. 3, the team joined players from the Under-10 girls teams with the Andover Youth Hockey Association to create tie blankets to be donated to Hope 4 Youth.

Hope 4 Youth is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Anoka that provides pathways to end youth homelessness in our community.

The high school girls were paired up with youth players and they were able to talk about hockey, school and whatever else came to mind while making tie blankets.

“This was a really fun night,” said Kaylyn Anderson, a junior at AndHS. “We enjoy giving back to the community, and spending time with the younger players. They really look up to us and I remember doing activities like this when I was their age, and it was always exciting.”
